Interesting Music History in the South Bronx

I used to live here as a kid until 1960: "Professor Naison's first interview was with Victoria Archibald-Good, a social worker, whose family moved from Harlem to the Bronx around 1950. Ms. Good, whose brother is Nate Archibald, the former N.B.A. star, grew up in Patterson Houses, a public housing project in Mott Haven. She told Professor Naison about dancing in the mid-1960's to some of the greats of Latin music — Mr. Puente, Celia Cruz — at the nearby Embassy Ballroom on East 163rd Street at Third Avenue."
